Company Overview:
A dynamic specialty finance company managing approximately $1.4 billion in assets is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role offers an opportunity to work across several critical finance and operations functions in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Reconcile investments, capital accounts, and related transactions.
  • Collaborate with the internal team and third-party specialists to assist in the fair value cycle.
  • Support the audit process and prepare required schedules for auditors.
  • Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements for corporate entities and assist in the consolidation process each month.
  • Help to develop and improve the design of the internal control framework.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Support the accounting treatment and technical accounting for acquisitions and investments.
  • Assist in identifying and tracking intangible assets and liabilities.
  • Develop processes and procedures for new transactions, collaborating internally and with third parties.
  • Manage cash flow, including monthly cash reconciliations.
  • Prepare and track wire transfers and funding requirements.
  • Monitor and report on liquidity and capital needs.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare financial reports and dashboards to support business decisions.
  • Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling and data analysis.

Qualifications:

  • CPA designation strongly preferred
  • Audit experience required
  • BS (or above) in accounting or finance
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in public accounting or financial services
  • Experience with consumer assets and specialty finance preferred
  • Experience with fair value, derivatives, and securitization accounting preferred
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting

Compensation:
Salary: $100,000 – $115,000, Plus Bonus
