Company Overview:
A global long/short equity firm with $4 billion in assets under management is seeking an Operations Associate to support its dynamic hedge fund operations. The role involves working closely with investment professionals to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of the fund's operations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Process and monitor trade transactions from execution to settlement across various asset classes.
• Ensure timely and accurate trade booking, confirmation, and settlement with counterparties and custodians.
• Perform daily reconciliation of cash, positions, and P&L across multiple systems.
• Monitor daily risk metrics and assist in preparing regulatory filings and reports.
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external reports, including daily NAV calculations and investor reporting.
• Help streamline and automate operational processes to improve efficiency.
• Maintain and update internal databases and operational systems with accurate trade data.
• Liaise with custodians, brokers, and prime brokers to ensure proper communication of transactions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in operations or back office in a hedge fund, asset management firm, or investment bank.
• Strong understanding of financial instruments, trade lifecycle, and settlement processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Familiarity with financial systems (e.g., Bloomberg, Eze Software, Charles River) is a plus.
• Experience with hedge fund operations and/or alternative investments is preferred.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g., Dodd-Frank, EMIR) is a plus.
• Experience with programming or automation tools (e.g., Python, VBA) is a plus.
