Company Overview:
A single-family office based in New York focuses on both traditional and alternative investments across public and private markets. They are seeking a Tax Manager to lead the transition of tax compliance functions to an in-house capability.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with CPAs to coordinate the preparation and timely filing of all relevant tax returns (individual, trust, estate, partnership).
  • Lead monthly tax meetings to discuss tax planning, income projections, and evaluate tax impact and risks of investments, transactions, and structuring decisions.
  • Manage estimated tax payments and year-end filing strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS and international tax reporting.
  • Develop and lead the family office’s overall tax strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term wealth and estate planning goals.
  • Maintain document retention protocols, ensuring strong internal controls.
  • Improve compliance and workflow processes through automation and best practices.
  • Stay current with changes in tax legislation and assess implications for the family’s financial affairs.

Qualifications:

  • CPA with 5-7 years of relevant tax experience, ideally including high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and private entities.
  • Experience in family office or private client services is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of estate, gift, and partnership taxation.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
