Company Overview:
A leading financial services firm specializing in outsourced accounting and fund administration is seeking a Controller / Fund Accountant. This fully remote role focuses on providing high-quality accounting and reporting services to a diverse portfolio of private equity, venture capital, and hedge fund clients.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with third-party fund administrators, custodians, and auditors to support client operations.
  • Maintain and review general ledgers for multiple fund entities, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Process and reconcile capital calls, distributions, management fees, and carried interest allocations.
  • Review and prepare periodic financial statements in accordance with GAAP and applicable fund accounting standards.
  • Calculate net asset values (NAV), internal rates of return (IRR), and other key fund performance metrics.
  • Track portfolio investments, valuations, and ownership structures across investment vehicles.
  • Participate in client onboarding, fund setup, and implementation of accounting systems.
  • Support audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
  • Assist in tax workpaper preparation and coordination with tax advisors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 2–6 years of fund accounting experience, preferably with experience auditing in financial services.
  • Understanding of partnership accounting, capital structures, and investment vehicles.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including financial modeling and reconciliations.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred.

Compensation:
Salary: $90,000 – $130,000, Plus Bonus
