Company Overview:
A leading alternative asset manager with over $50 billion in assets under management is seeking a Tax Manager to join its Tax Operations team. The role involves managing tax accounting, administration, and reporting for various entities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare quarterly RIC and REIT income and asset diversification compliance tests, excise tax analysis for BDC and REIT vehicles
  • Prepare and review quarterly federal and state partnership tax allocations, tax returns, K-1s, foreign filings for various credit and real estate funds
  • Prepare quarterly income tax provisions for domestic and foreign blocker corporations and quarterly estimated payments as applicable
  • Prepare quarterly and annual 1441 FDAP, 1445 FIRPTA, 1446 ECI, and multistate withholding tax calculations for fund investors as applicable
  • Review of 1042s and 8805s prepared by service providers and the maintenance of W-8/W-9 tax forms for both funds and investors
  • Maintain tax basis calculations for funds and limited partners
  • Coordinate with external tax advisers on return filings, quarterly market discount calculations, etc.
  • Review and prepare annual ASC 740 analyses for all funds
  • FATCA/CRS compliance and reporting including review of filing templates; FBAR filings
  • Identify tax issues and monitor new tax developments
  • Respond to investor inquiries
  • Interact with members of the finance, operations, legal and deal teams
  • Coordinate with external accounting, tax, legal and other service providers
  • Assist the tax team in servicing the firm’s various business lines as applicable

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with GPA 3.5+ required
  • 5-7 years tax experience; public accounting experience preferred
  • Industry experience/exposure to credit funds, CDOs, BDCs, RICs, real estate funds and REITs required
  • CPA or seeking to be a CPA a plus but not required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced skills such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc. required

Compensation:
Salary: $175,000 – $225,000, Plus Bonus
