Company Overview:
A leading nonprofit organization in Nassau County, providing services and support to over 2,200 individuals with special needs, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their Accounting Department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely review, completion, and approvals of timecards and change of status forms.
  • Audit manual and electronic timesheets via the UKG time and attendance system.
  • Process overtime, supplemental payments, and various payroll adjustments.
  • Generate and review payroll cycle reports, including payroll registers and tax reconciliations.
  • Review and reconcile employees’ pay data for accurate payment and accrual updates.
  • Research, resolve, and communicate employee wage inquiries.
  • Prepare off-cycle payrolls and manual checks as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local legislative regulations.
  • Generate UKG reporting for payroll auditing and employee verifications.
  • Prepare and provide payroll reports for audit requests and departmental needs.
  • Collaborate on process improvements and training on UKG systems.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in payroll processing and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Experience with UKG (WFM) time and attendance system and UKG-Ultipro payroll database.
  • Ability to generate and review detailed payroll reports.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local payroll regulations.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in payroll systems and reporting.

Compensation:
Pay Rate: $30 – $35/hr, DOE
