Company Overview:
A high-growth software company preparing to go public is seeking an experienced Payroll and Compensation Manager to lead their payroll operations and build their stock compensation function from the ground up.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage accurate and timely U.S. payroll for all employees, including tax compliance and year-end reporting.
• Develop policies, controls, and system enhancements to support scalable payroll operations.
• Partner with HR and Finance to reconcile payroll data, benefits, and accounting entries.
• Manage vendor relationships, audits, and payroll tax filings.
• Establish and administer the company’s stock-based compensation program.
• Serve as system administrator for the equity platform.
• Ensure compliance with ASC 718, SEC, and tax reporting requirements.
• Prepare expense calculations and reconciliations, supporting month-end and IPO documentation.
• Partner cross-functionally with HR, Legal, and Finance to align equity practices company-wide.
• Educate employees and serve as the internal equity compensation subject matter expert.
• Develop payroll and stock-based comp processes and controls to support SOX compliance and public-company requirements.
• Support IPO-related reporting, audits, and disclosures.
• Drive continuous process improvement and scalability initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of payroll/compensation experience; pre-IPO or public company experience strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of ASC 718, stock compensation accounting, and U.S. payroll regulations.
• Experience implementing equity platforms and payroll software.
• Preferred: CPA, CPP, or CEP certification; prior IPO experience.

Compensation:
Salary: $100,000 – $150,000, Plus Equity
