Company Overview:
An independent global commodities merchant with over 900 employees worldwide is seeking a Tax Manager to join their Tax Department in Stamford, CT. The role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting where innovation and process improvement are valued.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with partnership taxation matters with a primary focus on maintaining capital accounts and ensuring compliance
• Assist with corporate income tax compliance, planning, and reporting
• Review tax returns prepared by external tax advisors
• Prepare and review tax accounting and provisions, including ASC 740 and uncertain tax positions (UTPs)
• Support transfer pricing analysis and documentation
• Lead and contribute to special tax projects as needed
• Collaborate with external tax advisors and consultants to optimize tax strategies
• Partner cross-functionally with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Investor Relations, and Treasury teams
• Identify opportunities to automate/streamline tax processes using technology/AI tools
• Conduct tax research on complex U.S. and international tax issues

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, corporate tax, or a combination
• Strong understanding of partnership taxation or corporate taxation with interest and ability to work across both areas
• Working knowledge of U.S. international taxation including E&P, foreign tax credits, and basis analysis
• Tax research and technical writing skills
• Moderate to strong technology proficiency, including advanced Excel skills and familiarity with AI-enabled tools
• Interest in identifying and implementing process automation and efficiency improvements
• CPA a plus, but not required
• Experience with SAP S4 HANA or similar ERP systems

Compensation:
Salary: $150,000 – $175,000, Plus Bonus
