Company Overview:
A leading global hedge fund with approximately $70 billion in assets under management is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join their team. The role focuses on accounting for private investments and special purpose vehicles.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare internal and external accounting and financial reports with a focus on private investments and special purpose vehicles.
• Support operating transactions in accordance with documented policies and procedures.
• Serve as a technical resource and provide subject matter expertise.
• Perform fund accounting tasks including reconciliations, valuation information, and NAV package reviews.
• Monitor third-party service providers to ensure performance and accuracy of financial records.
• Collaborate with Middle Office and Tax departments to process relevant transactions.
• Assess transaction information capture and suggest process enhancements.
• Conduct performance and attribution analysis and review complex IRR and waterfall calculations.
• Research and document significant policies and procedures across the firm.
• Implement scalable, institutional policies and procedures.
• Coordinate financial statement audits and manage outsourcing arrangements.

Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of experience in Big 4 audit, plus 3-6 years at alternative investment experience
• Experience with hedge funds and private investment structures.
• BS/BA in Accounting; CPA required.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting (U.S. GAAP, IFRS).
• Familiarity with general ledger and private equity accounting software.
• Ability to read complex documents and summarize important facts.
• Proven experience in managing client relationships and motivating team members.
• Excellent project and time management skills.
• Strong presentation skills and ability to explain complex issues clearly.
