Company Overview:
A New York-based early-stage venture capital firm is seeking a Head of Finance. This role will strategically lead fund accounting, tax, valuations, compliance, and management company reporting.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee all fund accounting, tax, valuations, budgeting, financial reporting, and capital activity.
• Act as a strategic thought-partner to the Managing Partner in shaping firm operations and contributing to growth.
• Oversee the compliance program and complete annual regulatory filings.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, legal counsel, banking partners, and fund administrator.
• Own management company reporting and operations including accounting, tax, budgeting, expense management, and compensation and benefits planning.
• Contribute to fundraising efforts by completing operational due diligence questionnaires and running ODD meetings.
• Serve as a strategic thought partner on cross-team initiatives such as portfolio construction and capital management.
• Act as the point person for portfolio monitoring and track record management.

Qualifications:

• 10 to 15 years of professional experience in accounting/finance; venture capital experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with industry best practices across fund reporting, operations, and compliance.
• Proven track record of managing day-to-day operations and overseeing service provider relationships.
• Highly strategic thinker capable of improving processes, systems, and workflows.
• Energetic, efficient, and resourceful team player who takes ownership of work product.
