Company Overview:
A leading real estate investment management firm in Boston is seeking a Controller. The role involves overseeing accounting, reporting, and tax compliance for managed accounts.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop, oversee, and review the work of a team of Portfolio Accountants/Assistant Controllers.
• Review quarterly and annual audited financial statements and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Review property and fund level performance measurement calculations for compliance with NCREIF standards.
• Review calculations of quarterly income allocations based on complex Excel waterfall models.
• Review capital call and distribution calculations for investors and joint venture partners.
• Oversee quarterly and annual tax deliverables and work with third-party tax professionals.
• Review acquisition and disposition entries prepared by Portfolio Accountants.
• Participate in and prepare materials for portfolio management meetings.
• Work closely with lenders, legal counsel, and the CFO on finance-related matters.
• Review all lender reporting, including financial covenants and draw/paydown requests.
• Oversee ad-hoc financial modeling and analysis as requested.
• Collaborate with Investor Relations to respond to investor inquiries.
• Identify and develop process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce manual errors.

Qualifications:

• Minimum eight years of combined experience in public accounting and Real Estate Private Equity, including at least three years of management experience.
• CPA strongly desired.
• Sound understanding of US GAAP financial statements.
• Experience with Yardi preferred.
• Strong Excel skills preferred.

Compensation:
Salary: $150,000 – $175,000, Plus Bonus
