Company Overview:
A New York-based investment firm with over $3 billion under management focuses on innovations in molecular medicine within the Life Sciences and healthcare industry. The firm is seeking a Controller to manage accounting and reporting functions for its hedge fund and private equity funds.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage and execute all daily and monthly activities related to finance and hedge fund operations
• Position and P&L reconciliations with the fund’s prime brokers and administrator
• Security setup, trade entry, and communication of daily trades to prime broker and administrator
• Daily pricing of the fund’s portfolio
• Manage relationships with audit firms and oversee the annual year-end audit process
• Review NAV packages prepared by the fund’s administrator
• Work closely with Legal and Compliance for regulatory filings
• Oversee accuracy of financial data for fund administrators, auditors, and client reporting
• Support management company accounting activities
• Manage employee reimbursements and vendor invoicing
• Design and execute strategies to enhance accounting processes

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of public accounting, operations, and/or hedge fund accounting experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA preferred
• Knowledge of hedge fund accounting principles
• Experience in operating company or management company accounting
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting standards
• Experience with financial operations and reporting processes
• Analytical and data-driven with a strategic approach
• Experience leading and mentoring finance professionals

Compensation:
Salary: $170,000 – $200,000, Plus Bonus
