Company Overview:
A prestigious law firm founded in 1899 and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, specializes in strategic practice areas such as Private Equity, Finance & Restructuring, M&A, Venture Capital, and Capital Markets. They are seeking a Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive support to an Equity Partner in the Insurance and Reinsurance practice group.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Equity Partner’s calendar and contact lists, arrange meetings and conferences, and coordinate travel arrangements.
  • Provide trial preparation support, including reserving court reporters and organizing trial prep spaces.
  • Provide general legal administrative support, including typing and drafting documents, scheduling appointments, and managing expenses.
  • Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and reports, and assist with drafting petitions, motions, and interrogatories.
  • Review and revise monthly client billing statements and maintain client rate structures.
  • Respond to routine inquiries and transcribe voicemail messages.
  • Maintain familiarity with legal terminology and court filing rules.
  • Manage workload and adjust schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Utilize time-entry billing systems to record and submit timesheets.
  • Support teamwork within the practice area and the firm as a whole.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient use of time entry and billing software, preferably 3E and Elite.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with strong knowledge of grammar and legal terminology.
  • Ability to handle complex tasks and adapt to changes while maintaining strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Team player with the willingness to support others and take on additional responsibilities.
  • Ability to lift boxes and move files as needed.

Work Authorization:

  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by the Firm.

Compensation:
Salary: $90,000 – $110,000
