Company Overview:
A public service organization dedicated to providing retirement, disability, and death benefits to eligible educators in New York City is seeking a Correspondence, Member Services Representative. The role involves managing member service requests and assisting with inquiries related to the organization's products and services.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle high volume of inbound written inquiries received by mail, email, or chat.
  • Respond to routine member inquiries, concerns, and complaints relating to products and services.
  • Review member records for completeness and accuracy of inquiry.
  • Research and assess validity of complaints, determine possible causes and resolutions.
  • Record written summary of member interactions and transactions.
  • Escalate unresolved member concerns to designated departments.
  • Present clear explanations of practices, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Maintain files and control records of correspondence activities.
  • Confer with Sr. Member Service Representative on complex issues.
  • Compose correspondence and generate form letters/brochures.
  • Ensure money collected is properly recorded and secured.
  • Prepare response documents for shipment by certified mail.
  • Follow up with members on complex inquiries or complaint results.
  • Adhere to department and agency policies.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited college/university.
  • 2 years previous experience working in a Correspondence Center.
  • Previous experience using computer systems such as MS Word, MS Excel, and data entry.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.

Compensation:
Pay Rate: $20 – $21/hr, DOE
