Company Overview:
A well-established private equity firm is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support management company accounting. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-performing finance team in a dynamic investment environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily accounting operations for the management company, including bookkeeping, general ledger entries, and the monthly close process
  • Oversee Accounts Payable, ensuring timely processing of invoices, vendor communications, and payment approvals
  • Review and administer employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with T&E policies
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals for annual audits and tax filings
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and internal management reports
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Support special projects and process improvements across the finance function

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA designation is strongly preferred
  • 4–8 years of accounting experience, ideally a combination of public accounting and private industry
  • Experience in a private equity or hedge fund environment is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of management company operations, including expense tracking, vendor payments, and intercompany accounting
  • Proficient in Excel and familiar with accounting software such as QuickBooks

Compensation:
Pay Rate: $70 – $90/hr, DOE
