Company Overview:
A multi-strategy investment firm with over $8 billion in assets under management is seeking a highly skilled FPGA Engineer. The firm, headquartered in New York City, focuses on Volatility, Fundamental Equities, and Quant strategies, and values innovation and top talent.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement FPGA logic to process incoming control and data messages and generate trading signals.
  • Integrate vendor IP cores to accelerate development.
  • Develop custom modules for payload inspection and trigger detection.
  • Simulate and verify functionality using industry tools (ModelSim, Vivado, Quartus).
  • Optimize timing and resource utilization for sub-microsecond latency.
  • Collaborate with software, network, and systems engineers to define interfaces and protocols.
  • Write clear technical documentation and present design reviews.
  • Support prototype bring-up, testing, and integration in lab and production environments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on FPGA development experience using VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog or related language.
  • Strong understanding of Ethernet, IP, and related networking protocols.
  • Experience with FPGA toolchains (Quartus, Vivado).
  • Proven ability to optimize logic for timing, area, and power.
  • Familiarity with IP integration and license management.
  • Previous experience on FPGA systems in low latency / high frequency trading environment.
  • Experience with SmartNIC platforms or NIC offload architectures is preferred.
  • Experience with Layer 1 switching is preferred.
  • Experience with Arista switches with Virtex FPGAs is preferred.
  • Knowledge of high-speed transceiver configuration and signal integrity is preferred.
  • Scripting skills (Python, Tcl) for tool automation and testbench development is preferred.
  • Understanding of PCIe, DMA, and host interface protocols is preferred.
  • Background in latency-sensitive trading or telecommunication systems is preferred.

Compensation:
Salary: $150,000 – $300,000, Plus Bonus
