Company Overview:
A prominent law firm known for its commitment to client advocacy and legal excellence is seeking a Legal Assistant to join their NJ office. This role involves providing administrative and legal support to ensure smooth and efficient office operations and legal processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys with preparing and proofreading legal documents, correspondence, and filings.
  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, court appearances, and depositions.
  • Coordinate communication between clients, courts, and internal teams.
  • Perform document management including organizing, filing, scanning, and maintaining case files both physically and electronically.
  • Conduct legal research and gather information as requested by attorneys.
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and mail, responding or redirecting as appropriate.
  • Assist with case management tasks, tracking deadlines, and maintaining document databases.
  • Prepare billing summaries and assist with invoice tracking.
  • Support trial preparation and trial logistics as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an assistant or administrative assistant, preferably in a law firm environment.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with legal case management software is a plus.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred; paralegal certification is a plus but not required.

Compensation:
Pay Rate: $30 – $38/hr
