Company Overview:
A private investment partnership with approximately $2 billion in assets under management, specializing in fundamental, contrarian, long-term value investing globally, is seeking a CFO to join their team. The firm focuses on businesses with structural barriers to entry or hard assets, investing when these are out of favor and at prices offering significant margins of safety.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage the accounting of the investment vehicles managed by the firm
• Approve net-asset-value and fee calculations
• Oversee the valuation of securities portfolios and resolve any pricing discrepancies
• Review and approve annual audits
• Manage relationships with service providers including fund administrators, prime brokers, ISDA counterparties, executing brokers, and custodians
• Maintain and review the books and records of the firm and its investment vehicles
• Approve cash movements and vendor payments
• Periodically review investment-vehicle documents
• Monitor adherence to investment-management agreements and side letters
• Oversee investor reports and respond to ad hoc investor requests
• Review and process investor capital activities (capital calls, transfers, redemptions, etc.)
• Build financial models to capture key value drivers and company valuation

Qualifications:

• Finance, accounting, or related business degree or equivalent work experience, preferably with a CPA qualification
• 12+ years of experience with previous experience as a CFO or a controller at a hedge fund
• Experience with hedge-fund tax and management-company accounting
• Experience with international equity and derivatives (total return swaps and credit default swaps)
• Experience managing team members in multiple locations and time zones
• Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel), Bloomberg, and QuickBooks

Compensation:
Salary: $200,000 – $300,000, Plus Bonus
