Company Overview:
A rapidly growing luxury appliance retailer in New York and New Jersey is seeking a Senior Controller to elevate their financial operations. This role will focus on building a high-performing team and ensuring financial systems scale seamlessly with the company's growth.

Job Responsibilities:

• Recruit, attract, and hire exceptional accounting talent aligned with brand values.
• Mentor and develop team members, expanding their skills and preparing them for increased responsibility.
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring both precision and timeliness.
• Oversee all core accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, cash and merchant reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
• Ensure full compliance with GAAP and accrual-based accounting standards.
• Manage payroll operations with accuracy and efficiency.
• Administer benefit programs, including deductions and contributions for medical, dental, and other employee benefits.
• Streamline workflows to support continued growth and reduce manual processes through automation and ERP optimization.
• Deliver timely, accurate financial statements and reporting packages.
• Provide actionable financial insights, particularly in high-value B2C transactions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
• 7–10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong proficiency with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
• Proven ability to hire, develop, and hold teams accountable for high performance.
• Background in retail or B2C businesses with high average sale values, preferably in the retail or consumer goods industry.
• Expertise in accrual-based accounting, fraud detection, payroll, and benefits administration.
• Extreme attention to detail with the ability to deliver a luxury customer experience through accounting interactions.

Compensation:
Pay Rate: $70 – $75/hr, DOE
