Company Overview:
A leading global private investment firm with approximately $185 billion in assets under management is seeking a Tax Director for their Credit division. This role will focus on tax planning, structuring, and reporting for credit-oriented investment products.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tax strategies to support the fund’s investment objectives and operational framework.
  • Provide technical guidance on the tax implications of credit, structured, liquid, separately managed accounts, and distressed debt investments.
  • Advise on domestic and cross-border structuring to promote tax efficiency while ensuring compliance with applicable law.
  • Provide tax analysis and structuring advice in connection with new investments, financings, and divestitures.
  • Conduct and review tax due diligence on potential investments.
  • Establish and maintain internal policies, procedures, and controls relating to tax matters.
  • Manage interactions with tax authorities, including examinations and audits.
  • Serve as the principal tax advisor to senior management and investment professionals.
  • Manage external tax advisors, auditors, and legal counsel.
  • Provide guidance, oversight, and mentorship to junior professionals engaged in tax or finance-related work.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline; advanced degree (JD, LLM, or MST) preferred.
  • CPA, attorney, or equivalent professional credential required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in taxation, with significant exposure to credit funds, private equity, or other alternative investment structures.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in partnership taxation, Subchapter K, and the taxation of debt instruments and financial products.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. and international tax issues relevant to cross-border investments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience managing relationships with external service providers and supervising professional staff.

Compensation:
Salary: $150,000 – $185,000, Plus Bonus
