Company Overview:
A public sector organization dedicated to providing retirement and related benefits to educators in New York City is seeking an Azure AI Engineer/Developer. This role will support the development and deployment of AI-powered tools using Microsoft Azure and Power Platform technologies. This is a remote position with periodic travel to New York City. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy AI-enabled applications using Azure AI Studio, Azure Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI, and Azure Machine Learning
• Build intelligent assistants and workflow tools, including enhancements to internal AI knowledge assistants
• Integrate AI features into Power Apps, Power Automate, and Copilot Studio
• Write clean, well-structured Python code for backend logic, APIs, and cloud-native integrations
• Develop and maintain low-code applications with embedded AI features using the Microsoft Power Platform
• Configure, deploy, and monitor Azure resources such as App Services and Function Apps
• Implement CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate functional requirements into AI solutions
• Document system designs, AI workflows, and app configurations
• Assist in integrating or extending applications developed using Mendix, if applicable

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field
• 3–5 years of professional experience in application development, with experience in AI-enabled or cloud-native solutions
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Working knowledge of Azure Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI, and Azure Machine Learning
• Experience deploying apps using Azure Functions and Logic Apps
• Experience with Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Copilot Studio
• Familiarity with REST APIs, DevOps workflows, and infrastructure-as-code practices
• Preferred: Experience with Mendix and knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation or agentic AI workflows
• Preferred: Azure AI Engineer Associate or related Microsoft certification

Compensation:
Pay Rate: $65 – $73/hr, DOE
