Company Overview:
A fully integrated real estate investment and property management firm oversees a diverse portfolio of more than 100 residential and commercial assets throughout New York City. They are seeking a Property Accountant to join their team and manage the financial operations of their property portfolio.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage daily cash activities across multiple bank accounts, including wires, deposits, and transfers.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions; review and process invoices, record tenant receipts, and monitor delinquencies.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and assist in the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and amortization.
• Maintain accurate rent rolls, lease data, and tenant ledgers.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for property-level and consolidated reporting.
• Support property-level financial reporting and prepare internal management reports.
• Coordinate with third-party property managers, lenders, and joint venture partners as needed.
• Assist in accounting for property acquisitions, dispositions, and capital projects.
• Participate in special projects, including process improvement initiatives and internal system optimization using AppFolio.
• Provide guidance and oversight to offshore accounting support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• 5–10 years of accounting experience, ideally in real estate or property management.
• Solid understanding of cash management and multi-entity accounting.
• Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis).
• Experience with AppFolio or similar property management/accounting software required or strongly preferred.

Compensation:
Salary: $70,000 – $120,000, Plus Bonus
