Company Overview:
A leading global growth equity investor with over $100 billion in assets under management is seeking a Data Operations Project Lead. This strategic role will oversee the design, governance, and delivery of an integrated data environment to support the firm’s operational and regulatory objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the key liaison between IT, Finance, and Operations to ensure technology outputs align with business requirements and governance standards.
  • Lead the firm’s effort to bring its central data warehouse to audit-ready status, ensuring data lineage, completeness, and quality controls are in place.
  • Map and document system architecture, data flows, and dependencies across business and technology domains.
  • Drive project planning, implementation, and risk management for data warehouse buildout and optimization.
  • Translate operational and compliance needs into technical design and data model specifications.
  • Lead workshops and sprint sessions with data engineers, project managers, and business sponsors to align priorities.
  • Define success metrics for data accuracy, availability, and audit compliance; establish corresponding reporting frameworks.
  • Partner with vendors and internal teams to develop integration points and oversee data onboarding from third-party sources.
  • Support and mentor mid-level analysts as part of wider data modernization initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information systems, computer science, finance, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive data management or data operations leadership experience within financial services.
  • Proven record leading enterprise data warehouse initiatives, preferably within private equity, asset management, or banking.
  • Hands-on understanding of reference data, security master, pricing, and transaction data structures.
  • Strong command of governance, audit, and control frameworks supporting financial data platforms.
  • Proficiency in SQL and knowledge of BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) and ETL technologies is a plus.
  • Ability to manage complex projects with multiple workstreams and stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Work Arrangement:

  • Hybrid role requiring 3–4 days onsite weekly: two days in Stamford, CT, and one to two days in the firm’s New York, NY office.
