Company Overview:
A global credit rating agency, established in 2010, provides research, analysis, and transparent ratings for financial markets, aiming to restore trust in credit ratings through new standards and timely insights. They are seeking an Associate/Associate Director to join their Funds Ratings team in New York, focusing on credit ratings for various debt instruments issued by funds.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with credit research on a variety of funds, closed-end funds, and other investment vehicles.
• Assist with the development of rating and analytical tools such as cash flow and asset coverage models.
• Participate in diligence meetings with fund management teams to assess their investment acumen and risk management skills.
• Develop and maintain complex spreadsheets and databases.
• Collaborate with experts in other sectors such as project finance, corporate finance, and structured finance.
• Assist in research for internal and publication purposes.
• Lead/assist in the development of rating and analytical tools for evaluating fund debt structures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business-related or math-related fields.
• Four to eight years of work experience as a credit analyst, with experience in fund lending, investing, or structured finance being a significant plus.
• Proficiency in Advanced Excel and ability to create cash flow model.
• Proficiency in SQL and VBA for querying databases is a strong advantage.
• Successful progression towards CFA is a plus.
• Familiarity with Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT is a plus.

Compensation:
Salary: $120,000 – $140,000, Plus Bonus
