Company Overview:
A global credit rating agency provides research, analysis, and transparent ratings for financial markets, aiming to restore trust in credit ratings through new standards and timely insights. They are seeking a Director to join their Funds Ratings team in New York to lead the rating process for various debt instruments issued by funds.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead new issuance rating process, evaluating key factors such as capital structure, legal protection, collateral quality, and cash flow dynamics.
• Conduct due diligence meetings with issuers and managers to assess investment processes and risk management skills.
• Prepare rating memos and new issuance reports, making recommendations to rating committees.
• Monitor and oversee compliance processes for outstanding issuances and ratings.
• Develop and maintain complex spreadsheets and databases.
• Collaborate with experts in other sectors to evaluate complex multi-asset strategies.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members.
• Develop analytical tools to standardize rating approaches.
• Represent the agency at industry conferences and investor meetings.
• Assist with in-depth credit research and publications on new developments and trends.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, math, or related fields.
• 8+ years of experience in fund finance, investing, or structured finance.
• Experience with investment strategies in private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, and asset-based lending facilities.
• Understanding of subscription lines, NAV financing, hybrid facilities, and other fund finance products.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modeling.
• Ability to assess the creditworthiness of funds, assets, and counterparties.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• CFA or interest in obtaining CFA is a plus.
• Familiarity with Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT is a plus.

Compensation:
Salary: $150,000 – $175,000, Plus Bonus
