Company Overview:
A leading global investment firm with over $130 billion of assets under management is seeking a Vice President, Tax to join their team. The firm manages a diverse range of strategies across the capital structure, including private credit and private equity.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide tax advice on fund formations and domestic and international private credit transactions, including investments and exits.
• Review and structure funds and investment vehicles to ensure tax efficiency while mitigating risks.
• Support the business in managing the tax implications of debt restructurings and cross-border transactions.
• Coordinate with tax compliance for the organization and its funds, including tax filings and reporting requirements.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring timely updates to internal policies and processes.
• Work closely with investment teams, legal counsel, and external advisors to address tax issues during fund formations and deal negotiations and execution.
• Provide guidance to finance and operations teams on tax-related matters, including audits and risk assessments.
• Advise on the implications of domestic and international tax laws and regulations affecting the private credit industry.
• Support advocacy efforts related to tax policy changes impacting private credit investments.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent with specialization in Tax Law; LLM in Taxation is preferred.
• 5–8 years of experience in tax law, preferably within a top-tier law firm, financial services firm, or asset management company.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and international tax laws, particularly those relevant to private credit and fund structures.
• Proven experience advising on partnership taxation, fund formation, financial products, cross-border transactions, and tax compliance matters.
• Exceptional analytical skills and ability to communicate complex tax concepts to non-experts.
