Company Overview:
A full-service commercial bank serving professional service firms and small to mid-sized businesses is seeking an HR & Payroll Coordinator. This role will support the bank's Human Resources team and report to the SVP – Assistant Controller & Director of Human Resources.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain overall company human resources records and employee files
  • Process and distribute bi-weekly payrolls, funding & general ledger journal entries
  • Manage the collection of payroll documentation and ensure smooth and accurate weekly payroll processing
  • Preserve documentation to support payroll transactions for review and audits
  • Enter, maintain, and process information in the HR system, including compensation, time worked, and deductions
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll regulations
  • Assist in resolving payroll discrepancies and issues
  • Record daily attendance, maintain the company vacation calendar, and reconcile time off vs annual allotments
  • Manage the administration of employee benefits and the annual open enrollment process
  • Process 401k funding and manage relationships with vendors
  • Handle monthly benefit invoices and associated journal entries
  • Administer job postings, onboarding new hires, new hire orientation, and terminations
  • Conduct annual review and renewal of employee handbook and code of conduct
  • Perform annual testing for 401k and compliance calendar
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations and quarterly compensation reconciliations
  • Handle ad hoc human resources data requests

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, finance, accounting, or a business-related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a Human Resources-related position
  • 5+ years of experience in payroll processing
  • Experience with PEO providers, such as Paychex Flex or ADP
  • Knowledge of compensation, benefits, and tax regulations related to payroll in multiple states
  • Strong understanding of the account reconciliation process

Compensation:
Salary: $100,000 – $120,000
