Company Overview:
A leading financial technology organization is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to join their high-performing Monitoring Engineering team. This role focuses on enhancing system reliability and operational insight through advanced monitoring and observability capabilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Architect, deploy, and operate OpenTelemetry-based telemetry pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain instrumentation, telemetry, and alerting using tools like Grafana, OpsRamp, ElasticStack, BigPanda, AWS CloudWatch, and Azure Monitor.
  • Drive observability standards and best practices across engineering teams.
  • Integrate and manage OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing and telemetry data collection.
  • Collaborate with application development teams to define observability requirements.
  • Embed reliability considerations early in the SDLC.
  • Define and maintain standardized alert payloads and optimize thresholds.
  • Create and maintain dashboards for the Enterprise Monitoring Center.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and observability standards.
  • Build automation frameworks for monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
  • Drive system optimization through capacity analysis and performance tuning.
  • Define, implement, and operationalize SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
  • Participate in and improve incident response processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software, systems, or reliability engineering roles.
  • Hands-on experience with production observability, monitoring, and SLOs in distributed systems.

Compensation:
Pay Rate: $70 – $71/hr, DOE
