Company Overview:
A leading SEC registered investment advisor specializes in the acquisition and resolution of residential real estate and mortgages across the United States. They are seeking a Vice President of Accounting to provide strategic oversight and hands-on execution across tax compliance and accounting operations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee all federal, state, and local tax compliance obligations, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors on complex tax matters, audits, and filings.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s effective tax rate.
• Direct all day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, and payroll accounting.
• Lead the monthly and annual budgeting and multi-year financial planning processes.
• Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Lead the coordination of annual financial audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
• Serve as a strategic financial partner to the CFO and COO.
• Evaluate, implement, and optimize financial systems and technology solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 4-7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with experience in a management role.
• Proven experience in tax compliance/planning and accounting operations.
• High proficiency in accounting systems, advanced Excel skills required.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus.

Compensation:
Salary: $130,000 – $165,000, Plus Bonus
