Company Overview:
A private investment firm with approximately $1.4 billion in assets under management focuses on sports, media, and entertainment sectors. They are seeking a Controller to oversee fund finance functions, including fund accounting, financial reporting, and operational execution.

Job Responsibilities:

• Own the quarterly and annual close process across funds, SPVs, and the management company
• Review and approve NAV packages, financial statements, and investor reporting deliverables prepared by third-party administrators
• Lead annual audits and manage relationships with auditors and external tax advisors
• Coordinate fund tax reporting, including K-1 delivery and tax estimates
• Oversee execution of capital calls and distributions, including review of notices and investor allocations
• Manage fund liquidity, including cash forecasting, credit facility activity, and capital planning
• Oversee management fee calculations, carried interest, and waterfall mechanics
• Support investor reporting deliverables, DDQs, and ad hoc LP requests
• Design and improve accounting, reporting, and control processes across funds and the management company

Qualifications:

• 7–10+ years of experience across public accounting and private markets, with private equity fund experience strongly preferred
• Strong foundation in fund accounting, audit, and financial reporting
• Experience with tax structuring for private equity funds, including ECI/UBTI mitigation and blocker structures for loan origination and dividend income, is a plus
• CPA preferred
• Familiarity with complex fund structures (SPVs, co-investments) preferred

Compensation:
Salary: $150,000 – $225,000, Plus Bonus
