Company Overview:
A private multi-family office of an investment firm is seeking a Vice President of Accounting to support its enterprise, principals, and affiliated non-profit organizations. This role reports to the Director of Tax and involves managing the end-to-end accounting lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage individual capital accounts, distributions, and contributions for each principal
  • Track and reconcile balance sheets, including illiquid and alternative asset holdings
  • Prepare customized reporting packages reflecting each principal’s unique entity structure and reporting preferences
  • Coordinate with tax, finance, and investment teams to reflect portfolio activity accurately in the books
  • Reconcile investment activity against custodian and administrator statements
  • Account for SPVs created by the family office; manage capital calls, carried interest, and fee calculations
  • Prepare and review consolidated and entity-level financial statements
  • Maintain general ledger integrity across a complex multi-entity chart of accounts
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
  • Monitor cash positions and coordinate funding for capital calls and expenses
  • Maintain banking relationships and reconcile multiple bank and custodial accounts
  • Support the Director of Tax with K-1 preparation and maintain records for tax compliance
  • Maintain accounting policies and internal controls consistent with SEC requirements
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure accurate financial data flows
  • Manage third-party vendors supporting the accounting and reporting lifecycles

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; Master’s degree a plus
  • 7-10+ years of relevant experience, ideally at a professional accounting firm or multi-family office
  • CPA required; CFP, CFA, or MST a plus
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and multi-entity/consolidated accounting
  • Experience with high-net-worth individuals’ personal financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software
  • High discretion and confidentiality standards expected in a family office environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and adaptability to a growing organization

Compensation:
Salary: $150,000 – $175,000, Plus Bonus
