A mid-sized U.S. domestic property and casualty insurance company with a nearly 100-year history of strong financial performance is seeking a Staff Accountant. The role involves maintaining general ledger account balances and preparing financial reports in compliance with accounting standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze general ledger account balances and compile financial information.
• Develop financial and managerial accounting information.
• Assist in the preparation of accounting reports and reconciliations.
• Suggest new accounting procedures and recommend improvements.
• Determine expenses for services and distribute costs.
• Maintain and reconcile certain general ledger accounts.
• Apply applicable accounting and reporting rules and statutory regulations.
• Record financial transactions in accordance with SSAP and GAAP.
• Prepare financial reports for financial analysis regarding account status.
• Participate in accounting projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 1-3 years of financial accounting experience.
• Experience with spreadsheet software packages.
• Familiarity with automated or manual accounting systems.

Compensation:
Salary: $76,000 – $98,000
