Company Overview:
A leading investment management firm with over $3 billion in assets under management specializes in commercial real estate-related debt markets. They are seeking an experienced Management Company Accounting Consultant to support their team through year-end.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and support monthly management-company financial reporting, including financial statements, schedules, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Own or materially support expense-allocation calculations and billbacks from the management company to funds, deal entities, and other applicable vehicles.
  • Review the underlying expense detail and determine the appropriate allocation across management-company, fund, and deal-level entities.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including cash and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare audit support, schedules, and documentation for annual management-company and related-entity audits.
  • Support T&E and corporate-card activity, including expense-report review, coding, allocations, and related journal entries.
  • Assist with treasury, accounts payable, cash-management, and other corporate-accounting activities as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, automate recurring work, and make the accounting function more efficient.
  • Handle special projects and shifting priorities with limited supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in management-company accounting, asset management, private credit, real estate, or a related financial-services environment.
  • Meaningful hands-on experience with financial reporting, expense allocations, and billbacks.
  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to work independently without being hand-held or micromanaged.
  • Strong knowledge of credit and real estate investment strategies, ideally in an organization with comparable products or structures.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct, SAP Concur, Stavpay, or comparable accounting, expense-management, or payment systems is preferred.
  • Exposure to AI, automation, process redesign, or accounting-system optimization is preferred.
  • CPA or public-accounting experience, especially if paired with asset-management clients, is preferred.

Compensation:
Pay Rate: $60 – $120/hr
